Born to Praise…

Praised be Adonai, Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who in the Messiah has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heaven.  In the Messiah he chose us in love before the creation of the universe to be holy and without defect in his presence.  He determined in advance that through Yeshua the Messiah we would be his sons—in keeping with his pleasure and purpose—so that we would bring him praise commensurate with the glory of the grace he gave us through the Beloved One. Ephesians

We are holy and without defect in His presence.  He said so; if we are one of Christ’s.  We are his children; sons and daughters; planned for!  He said so.  This is His purpose in our creation.  We bring Him praise. He gets the praise for the grace He has extended to us..

What can we do outside his grace?  Nothing.  What can we do in his grace?  Whatever He desires…

In union with him, through the shedding of his blood, we are set free–our sins are forgiven; this accords with the wealth of the grace he has lavished on us.  In all his wisdom and insight he has made known to us his secret plan, which by his own will he designed beforehand in connection with the Messiah and will put into effect when the time is ripe–his plan to place everything in heaven and on earth under the Messiah’s headship.

Also, in union with him we were given an inheritance, we who were picked in advance according to the purpose of the One who effects everything in keeping with the decision of his will, so that we who earlier had put our hope in the Messiah would bring him praise commensurate with his glory. Ephesians

We are in union with Christ; we are one.  We are set free of the penalty for sin.  We are given wisdom and insight into his plan for us.  We have an inheritance.  We have all this for one purpose–to bring him praise.

How can we allow the enemy to spread lies about us to us? Why would we believe the enemy? and not God?  It is imperative that we realize how blessed we are!  Let it sink in and take root.  Any thoughts that come to say we failed, we are inadequate, we cannot…any thoughts of this nature are lies from the enemy.  It is time to recognize who we are in Christ and call the lie what it is!!

Eve believed the lie and look at its consequences.  Christ’s coming changes all that.  We can because he did and God said so!

Pray- I am and doubly so because of Christ therefore I can praise You and will praise You for the change You bring in the second birth.  I will sing to You, Lord, for You are highly exalted.  The horse and its rider You have hurled into the sea!  You, Lord are my strength and my song; You have become my salvation.  You are my God and I will praise You.  You, Lord, are a warrior! The Lord is your name!

Repent – I repent for not praising You more.  God, You know how foolish I am; my guilt is not hidden from You.  Let those who put their hope in you, Adonai Elohim-Tzva’ot, not be put to shame through me; let those who are seeking You, God of Isra’el, not be disgraced through me.

Ask – As for me, Adonai, let my prayer to You come at an acceptable time; in Your great grace, God, answer me with the truth of Your salvation.

Yes – Praise you, my God!  Let the sound of Your praise be heard; You have preserved my life and kept my feet from slipping.  For You, o God, tested me You refined me like silver.

Be exalted, God, above heaven!  May Your glory be over all the earth!

A Legacy…

Joshua 13:14-28

To the tribe of Levi alone Moses gave no inheritance. The offerings by fire to the LORD God of Israel are their inheritance, as he said to him.

And Moses gave an inheritance to the tribe of the people of Reuben according to their clans.

 So their territory was from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the tableland by Medeba;

with Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the tableland; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon,

and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,

and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley,

and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth,

that is, all the cities of the tableland, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses defeated with the leaders of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land.

Balaam also, the son of Beor, the one who practiced divination, was killed with the sword by the people of Israel among the rest of their slain.

And the border of the people of Reuben was the Jordan as a boundary. This was the inheritance of the people of Reuben, according to their clans with their cities and villages.

Moses gave an inheritance also to the tribe of Gad, to the people of Gad, according to their clans.

Their territory was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites, to Aroer, which is east of Rabbah,

and from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir,

and in the valley Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, having the Jordan as a boundary, to the lower end of the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward beyond the Jordan.

This is the inheritance of the people of Gad according to their clans, with their cities and villages.

“This is the inheritance of the people of.” Some translations say “the descendants of.” Inheritance is defined as:

in·her·it·ance; inˈheritəns/; noun: inheritance; plural noun: inheritances; a thing that is inherited. “he came into a comfortable inheritance”; synonyms: legacy, bequest, endowment, bestowal, provision; More: birthright, heritage, patrimony.

The people of Israel are rewarded with an inheritance for their obedience to the commands of God. This inheritance is passed down to their children. As we receive our inheritance from God in obedience to His word, are we seeing that it is handed down to our children? Let’s explore this a bit. The passage describes the land given, its former ownership, and the placement of the land. All is done according to what God said to Moses. We have been looking at applying the conquest of Israel into the promised land as a type of our conquest into our promised land. We too are engaged in daily battles with real foes that are physical and spiritual. As we follow the commands and promptings of the Holy Spirit we are able to rid our lives of those things that hinder the work of the Lord for the building of His kingdom. We are becoming overcomers in spirit and in truth. What then is the legacy that we leave our future generations? Are we faithful to teach the children not only the words of the scripture but also the ways of application? Are we living examples of Jesus’ teachings; of the biblical principles of a victorious life? When we are gone will they be able to inherit the truths of the scripture into their lives? The question is what is our legacy? We have responsibility not only to the Lord but also to our fellow man. And so the commands come alive: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and love your fellow man as yourself.

“…[Mar 12:30-31 NKJV] 30 ‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This [is] the first commandment. 31 “And the second, like [it, is] this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”…”

Take on the day in the name of the Lord. Let us walk in faith, overcoming and living by example as well as by word the Holy Scriptures.
