For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans

Matthew 6:28-

And why be anxious about clothing? Think about the fields of wild irises, and how they do grow. They neither work nor spin thread, yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as beautifully as one of these. If this is how God clothes grass in the field–which is here today and gone tomorrow, thrown in an oven–won’t he much more clothe you? What little trust you have!! – Jesus

Can the believer trust God for healing? Can the believer trust God for job and spouse? Can the believer trust God for food and shelter? Can the believer trust God for attire? A believer has trusted God for salvation…then why would a believer not trust, have faith for the rest of what makes life?   The last question is how much faith does a believer have? Enough to be a believer? Then what…?

Not exercising faith in all of the elements of life is not believing what God has said. That lack of faith is disrespect in the sense it states that what God has said is not true. That was the first question posed to Eve. The deception is real and subtle. It begins with a question and ends with death. If there is faith for salvation, a stated belief in God and his gift to all through Christ, then there is no room for anxiety. Anxiety is evidence of lack of faith and calls into question the believer’s first statement of belief. Don’t be caught up in the web of deception and think worry is a small matter. Ask of the Lord for the faith to truly believe and apply that belief to life in all its forms.

  1. Good post Gracie, and “anxiety” was I post I had in my thoughts to do also. All you said here is so true. I love how you brought up how “we trust Him for salvation and not other things.” That really hit home with me. Thanks for sharing this and a great one as usual. Love and God Bless, SR

  2. We are living in a time in history that could cause us to worry. We must hold to what God says, not what our world says. If we put our energy into prayer for our nation, I believe things would change and fast. Be blessed, also.
