For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans

Mat 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Mat 5:15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
Mat 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Do not confuse self-control with hiding what is done, or doing all things in secret. The good that is done should be seen, it becomes evidence of God’s glory and brings Him praise. Righteousness is evidence of God’s presence. Faith in Him brings excellence into the life of the believer. That move for excellence permeates everything that is done and makes room for knowledge. Knowledge gained from the experiences of exercising the faith given by God, believing that God is, who He is and what He does, believing Christ came, accomplished what he came to do, that it is for the benefit of all peoples…that creates the desire for excellence in all things. That knowledge gained gives the possibility to control self. Desires and drives are now founded on the basis of faith in God, acquired through a drive for excellence to please Him, built by experiences giving and building knowledge of His ways and desiring those ways rather than the ways of self. It compounds. There is something growing in the believer and it is transforming them into a spiritual being as they yield to the Holy Spirit and cooperate with the Holy Spirit in them.
Transformed by the renewing of the mind, that mind of Christ, a work in progress begun with faith in God through Christ Jesus and seen by all around the believer… a light on a lampstand shining Christ’s light to all who see.
