Who are we?

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans

Psalm 15

 A Psalm of David. O LORD, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

 He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart;

 who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;

 in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; who swears to his own hurt and does not change;

who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.

There we have it; a list of characteristics seen in those who love and serve God. Can we stop seeing characteristics as a list of do’s and don’ts? It isn’t what one must do; it is simply what they do! From the inside out we express our love for God and fellow-man through who we are, who we have become in Him.  We walk blamelessly for we are covered by the blood of Jesus; we do what is right because we love…God and our fellow-man.  We do not slander; we do no evil toward another for that would not be acting in love.  We do not cause reproach against friends; we show honor to those who fear the Lord.  We do not cheat another but deal honestly with others; we do not harm the innocent.  We are those who will stand and not be moved.
