One in purpose, one in love…

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans

Isaiah 2:1-5

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

It shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow to it,

and many peoples shall come, and say: “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob, that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

He shall judge between the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.

O house of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Hope, a hope held by all, of a time when we shall make war no more.  That time comes when all nations turn to the Lord and follow his commands.  The Lord shall judge between men and between nations.  With that judgment comes peace for the disputes are settled.  There is nothing left to fight over.

When we turn to the Lord and we follow his commands, there is no room left for argument.  Disputes are settled and we become united, a unity that brings peace.  The phrase “can’t we all just get along?” becomes reality.  Christ speaks and we know this day is coming.  In Christ there can be no dissension for we have one Lord, one Savior, one God.  We become one in purpose and in love.

let us walk in the light of the LORD.
