At a place where you know you are under attack spiritually? Here are some notes on fighting back. We are not defenseless.
taken from Beyond Jabez by Bruce Wilkerson.
1. Anticipate temptations ( includes the opportunity to take offense) as you increase in service to the Lord or in the desire to do so, and increase you relationship with Him. Be aware, Beware.
2. Get rid of any sin that repeatedly defeats you. Hebrews12:1; let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, Any thing that weighs us down, does not lift us up needs to be dealt with and set aside. “you cannot fulfill God’s purpose in your life if your’re entangled in sin – Wilkerson
3. Be continually filled with the Spirit’s power. I heard at a meeting once that the daily prayer for the filling of the Spirit is needed because it is used during the day and evening in service to the Lord. Ephesians 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, The Greek grammar here implies a continual habit of being filled and refilled, over and over. Pray daily for His Spirit’s filling in your life – drink of the Spirit daily. Interesting note: Spirit is symbolized as water “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:38-39.
4. Stand in the power of God’s might. Fight until you experience victory. Begin each day taking in truth, purposing to act in righteousness ( rightly), remind yourself and review the gospel of peace, faith and salvation then take up His weapons: the Word of God and prayer.
The Spirit be with you today. Love you, gracie
