Knowlege is responsibility

James 4:17   Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do [it], to him it is sin.  http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Jam&c=4&v=1&t=NKJV#top

If you know the Lord’s will and don’t do it, it is sin.   If He calls you to a ministry and you don’t respond, it is sin.  If you know to eat one thing over another and don’t do it, it is sin.  When you ask for knowledge and receive it, then don’t follow through, that is sin.

Jeremiah 36:6  You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, [fn]the words of the LORD, …” 28 Take yet another scroll, and write on it all the former words that were in the first scroll which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned. …29-30 And you shall say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, ‘Thus says the LORD: “You have burned this scroll, saying, ‘Why have you written in it that the king of Babylon will certainly come and destroy this land, and cause man and beast to cease from here?’ ” Therefore thus says the LORD concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: “He shall have no one to sit on the throne of David, and his dead body shall be cast out to the heat of the day and the frost of the night…32  Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote on it at the instruction of Jeremiah [fn]all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And besides, there were added to them many similar words. http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Jer&c=36&v=1&t=NKJV#top

Read the words of the Lord.  They reveal who we are, showcase our true self.  Do not ‘burn’ the words of the Lord, but act on them.  Take action to change what needs to change, to make your relationship with God as it should be.

Gnomatic Post

Back after a spell…

Gnome leg muscles have an extra bundle.  They have two types of muscles–red and white.  White are for short-distance performance; and red are for endurance work.

They are more remarkable with their sense of smell.  The gnome ‘sees’ a lot of their world through the nose.  Mankind has lost this acute sense.  The gnome needs it for survival, given their size in a very large world!!!

Found, Not lost

Lamentations 2

My eyes fail with tears, My heart is troubled; My bile is poured on the ground Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the children and the infants Faint in the streets of the city. …

Their heart cried out to the Lord, “O wall of the daughter of Zion, Let tears run down like a river day and night; Give yourself no relief; Give your eyes no rest. Arise, cry out in the night, At the beginning of the watches; Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him For the life of your young children, Who faint from hunger at the head of every street.” See, O LORD, and consider! To whom have You done this? Should the women eat their offspring, The children they have cuddled? Should the priest and prophet be slain In the sanctuary of the Lord? Young and old lie On the ground in the streets; My virgins and my young men Have fallen by the sword; You have slain [them] in the day of Your anger, You have slaughtered [and] not pitied You have invited as to a feast day The terrors that surround me. In the day of the Lord’s anger There was no refugee or survivor. Those whom I have borne and brought up My enemies have destroyed.”  Blue Letter Bible. “Lamentations 2 – New King James Version.” Blue Letter Bible. 1996-2009. 10 Apr 2009. < http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Lam&c=2&t=NKJV

My response:  More pain…a pain I know too well.  Tears at what you can’t fix, can’t repair, couldn’t prevent.  Pain that tears the inner heart of your self for the loss, of life that could have been, of health, of dreams… Life as you know it stops and changes.  It was easy, now it is hard, it was social, now it is loneliness, it was full of joy, now it is filled with sorrow.  God’s judgment has come and He is one to be feared.

Thank you Lord, for your protection.  I stood before you as one who would not compromise.  I held on to you, I cried to you, I read your Word and tried to follow it’s commands.  For that you have honored me with your presence, your peace, your direction.  In my loss I find you ever and always there.  Dreams can be replaced with new ones.  New life follows winter’s cold blast.  The earth springs forth with the promise of green and the colors of the fields.  So my life will spring anew with color given by you, with life directed by you, with dreams to build on … grounded in your Word.

Written July13, 2006, Thursday.  The promise given has come to pass, Blessed be the name of the Lord!!

Found Ramblings

Jeremiah 52

I will utter My judgments Against them concerning all their wickedness, Because they have forsaken Me, Burned incense to other gods, And worshiped the works of their own hands. …Against the kings of Judah, Against its princes, Against its priests, And against the people of the land.

The evil of the rulers impacted the people.  The consequences fell on all.  The evil practices brought the destruction of the temple.  But the people were able to worship the Lord before the temple was built and continued to do so after it was destroyed.  Forgiveness is always available, but consequences always follow evil practices.

Does this speak to us today? in this age? Mankind has not changed, God’s forgiveness is still available and we can continue to worship Him no matter the circumstances.  What are your thoughts?
